Master Florist Married 3
I lasted about 1-1/2 months at Southwestern! I was working at a florist when I was in high school and went on and became a master florist. I took a sabbatical when my kids were in school and now work very part time at a local florist in Pleasanton. I have been married to Roccy for almost 24 years and have 3 boys. Todd (my stepson) is 32 and married to Jules. They've blessed us with Theo(4) and Claire(1....and finally a girl!). Curtis is 21 and a senior in college and Garrett is 19 and will be a sophomore in college. I spend (and have spent) a lot of time volunteering and fund-raising for my boys' schools, Valley Care Hospital, Tri Valley Animal Rescue and now the Amador Valley Women's League. My husband and I both love to travel (lots of motorhome trips when the kids were younger). We have been all over the United States, Canada, Mexico and France. The next trip will be back to Paris and then off to explore Italy. In all my spare time I love to garden, decorate the house, cook and drink lots of wine with my girlfriends! My biggest accomplishment has been my boys. They have turned out to be the nicest young men who still like to occasionally hang out with their dear old mom. Send Paula a MessageSend Paula a Message

VP IT, CIO Married 5

Since I won't be able to make the reunion, I'll update my status on this web site.

After high school, I left California and have rarely returned.  I went to school in Utah, at BYU.  I served as a missionary in Spain. Carolyn and I married just before I finished graduate school.  We moved to the Houston area, and then lived overseas (Singapore and Scotland).  We returned to Texas for the older kids to go through High School.

We have 5 children; the last one is quite a bit younger than the older 4. She was born after we returned to the States.

When younger, I spend quite a bit of time in various countries.  I especially have spent quite a bit of time doing business in India in the 80s and 90s.

Now, I avoid travelling and traffic whenever I can.  We lived on a farm in Scotland. We had some acreage in Texas, near Houston, but had to flee when Houston grew so that traffic started afflicting our little town.  Now I live outside of Oklahoma City- we live next to a nice boating lake, and only 15 minutes from work downtown.

I'm currently working in IT, serving as CIO for OGE Energy Corp.  We've received a good chunk of stimulus money and are putting in the 'Smart Grid' in our largest unit, an electric utility.  It's fun being involved in something new and not fully tested.

Senior Scientist Married 5
The last 30 years have been great ones. After getting a BA in Biochemistry from UCB in 1980 and not finding a job in San Diego BEFORE the biotech boom, I was a SD Police Officer for a short time and then received an MS in Optical Physics from good ol' SDSU. I started working at General Atomics in Sorrento Valley after that and have been there ever since in their Nuclear Fusion Research Operations Group.  We do nuclear fusion research for the Department of  Energy.   I have been married to Sara (Sara Lee, that is) since 1985 and we have 5 children ages 12 - 27. We live in Temecula and are enjoying camping and some visits to Kaua'i. I am active in promoting science education through work and since about 2002 have been the Education and Outreach Chair for the American Physical Society/Division of Plasma Physics and Manager of the Fusion Education Group  (http://fusioned.gat.com).  We enjoyed very much the recent 30th reunion and will send a pic ASAP. Good to hear from all other Hilltop people- you're the greatest. Send Rick a MessageSend Rick a Message

Retail, Education (Elementary School Principal) Divorced 3
I've been married once, divorced after 16 years. We have three kids: Tommy (22), Tyler (21), and Carlie (16) is a sophomore at Eastlake High School and doing quite well.

I was in a gay relationship that lasted 7 years, but now I've found the love of my life in Randy. He is from Arkansas, but he will be moving to San Diego very soon!

I've traveled to New Orleans (before Katrina), NYC, upstate NY, and try to get down to Puerta Vallarta twice a year. My hobbies include singing, reading, theatre, and wine. Greatest accomplishments are my kids. Nothing could be as much as that. And for the future, now that I've found Mr. Right, I hope to marry him and move to a place that has a slow lifestyle, is accepting of gays, and where we can afford to buy a home. I would also like to travel more.

Robi Huffman (Zocher)
Married 2

Well, it’s the year of the AARP card for me.

I went to a few colleges and universities, eventually earning a BA in English and completing one year of credits of an MBA at SDSU. I lovingly refer to those as my “non-linear” years. Somewhere in there I lived on a kibbutz in Israel for a year and half, worked in retail management and then finally landed as a Manager of Human Resources for a San Diego Macintosh software start-up, where I met my husband of 20 years, Eric. We moved to the Bay area when I was four months pregnant with our first daughter, Anna, and then number two, Ellen, came along eighteen months later. We moved to the Seattle area in '94 and have been here ever since. I was a freelance writer for six years until I got sucked in to that black hole called “volunteering”. It continues to amaze me how much work gets done by people who don’t get paid a dime to do it, but, it is a privilege to help and I have loved supporting organizations that I care deeply about. I am currently on the board of our new children’s museum, serving as Vice Chair of Organizational Development. Both our girls are like walking, breathing cartoons—they have large personalities that we hope (fingers crossed) will serve them well in life—with our oldest currently taking a Gap Year by studying Arabic in Cairo (then she will start at Santa Clara University next fall) and our youngest working hard as a junior in high school (dedicated lacrosse player, which keeps us all busy!) My husband still puts up with me, the kids are healthy and occasionally the sun shines through the Seattle yuck…it’s all good. I will try to get over my fear of reunions and come to the next one. See ya!
