DeLynn Gayanne Green Gawron April 10, 1957 - May 28, 2015 CHULA VISTA -- DeLynn Gayanne Green Gawron passed away May 28, 2015, at Kaiser Hospital San Diego. Born April 10, 1957, in Kodiak, Alaska (territory). She graduated from Hilltop High School in 1975 and San Diego State in 1979. She was a life member of the Phi Kappa Phi Honor Society. After graduation, she worked for the U.S. Customs Department. In 1985, she was selected as one of 100 Air Marshals, of which only 15 were women, into the new FAA Air Marshal program. She moved to San Francisco and was in charge of airport security inspections at seven airports. Her job also required her to fly all over the world to inspect security in foreign nations, often in relation to the visits by former President Reagan. She returned to San Diego and became an investigator for the Department of Defense. She was a life member of Chula Vista OES, a majority member of the Chula Vista Rainbow Girls and was a Girl Scout.
She married John Gawron September 11, 1988. She is survived by her husband, John and sons, Christopher (16) and Jamie (9), stepdaughters, Kia and Karen, and granddaughters Mariah, Haven and Gabi. She is also survived by her parents, Katherine (Kumpf) and Herbert Green, her brother, Scott (Jane) Green, nieces Kathryn (Patrick) Hrezo, Kristen (Dustin) Capps, nephew Scott Green Jr., grandnephew, Jase Connor Hrezo, and several cousins and in-laws. DeLynn chose to donate her body to the UCSD Cancer Research Center.
