Comment: Following HS, I earned BS & MS degrees in Geophysics. Throughout that time I continued to compete in cross country and track on the college level and still run and compete today.  I then worked for 3 years doing oil & gas exploration for an oil company. After leaving that position, I took the next 3 years and traveled throughout southern Asia, Africa, and thru-hiked the Appalachian Trail.  During that time I decided to go back to school in Colorado and earn my secondary teaching credential in math. At that time I met my wife, Dee.  We taught for 3 years in Colorado Springs and then decided to join the Peace Corps.  We were located in Jamaica for 2 years teaching in the public schools.  Upon returning to Colorado, we got teaching jobs in Rifle on the Western Slope.  After 21 years, we still enjoy living in a small town where we are surrounded by beautiful mountains and the pace of life is less hectic. We continue to travel throughout the US and around the world.

Comment: After graduating, I attended Pepperdine University for a year, then my family moved back to Portland, Oregon. I graduated fron the University of Oregon with a BA in Art History. With such an unmarketable degree, I ended up starting my own business in design, custom sewing and tailoring. I went back to nursing school in my mid-thirties, and worked at a small hospital on the Oregon Coast, doing Emergency and ICU nursing. I moved to Palo Alto and worked for two years at Packard Children's Hospital at Stanford University Medical Center. I have since returned to Oregon and went back to work for Peace Harbor Hospital on the Oregon Coast. We moved back to Eugene last year and I now work at Sacred Heart Riverbend Hospital as a staff RN in the Pediatric/Adolescent Care Unit.  I also started painting and doing photography again after a hiatus of twenty years. Earl, my husband of 34 years and I spend time traveling and visiting with family.

Comment: After highschool I set out on a Spirtual quest following my Guru to Venezuela. Later I joined an ashram for a few years in Miami.  Then came back to San Diego and married eventually having a son.  I now own a thriving workers' compensation medical practice management company with 9 employees.  Never got a degree, but still might some day just for fun.  Still live in San Diego.  Still do meditation.  Started a non-profit called San Diego Peace Promotions this year.
